Maltron keyboards and RoHS

Maltron single-hand, dual-hand, expanded, single-digit, mouth-stick and head-stick keyboards are Class I medical devices as defined by EU Council Directive 93/42/EEC when supplied for the “alleviation of or compensation for an injury or handicap”.

Class I medical devices are outside the scope of the EU RoHS Directive.

PCD Maltron Ltd takes seriously the aims of RoHS. A small number of keyboard components we obtain from suppliers will not, however, be available in compliant format until September 2006.

Until these replacement components are available, we will supply Maltron keyboards to customers within Europe only when obtained for the “alleviation of or compensation for an injury or handicap”. Customers outside Europe are not affected by this restriction.
